Background: Originally from Tullahoma, Tennessee, Cindy Tresider received an Associate of Science Degree in Social Services at Motlow State Community College, and received her Bachelor’s Degree at MTSU, majoring in Business Administration with a minor is Human Relations. Before landing at LBMC EP, Cindy worked in many positions that helped her land where she is today. From receptionist, to managing benefits, to payroll processor, Cindy gained much knowledge in the field of client benefits’ management. After a brief reprieve while going through the process of adopting a child from Russia, Cindy began working from home as a consultant for LBMC Employment Partners, helping mainly with HCA contracts. Deciding it was time to jump back into things, Cindy came on full-time as of March 4, 2002.

Current Role: Cindy’s current role mainly involves managing brokerage clients that LBMC EP brings in. Some clients are a part of the PEO but have carved out their benefit plans. Other clients allow LBMC EP to manage their benefits as their broker, while others enter into an HRO (Human Resources Outsourcing relationship). The benefits department helps the client manage their companies’ benefits from various aspects – such as enrollment, billing reconciliation, benefit communications, enrollment meetings, and/or the set-up of benefit deductions. The client allows us to obtain quotes, create proposals for different benefits packages, and then we communicate that proposal to the client. The client then elects what benefit package they want to offer to their employees. As the broker, we then communicate the client’s decision to the carriers and start implementing open enrollment, so that we may communicate the new benefit’s package to the client’s employees. Cindy manages a staff of four employees that work in the benefits department. Alongside Terri Mangrum, Cindy also helps manage LBMC EP’s ACA services. 

Why LBMC EP stands out: When asked why LBMC EP stands out from amongst the competition, Cindy confidently states, “There’s a seamless integration between our staff — HR, payroll, and benefits. We all work together to take a lot of the headache off our client, and as a broker, we offer a lot of things that other brokers don’t, like billing reconciliation. We are very hands on and proactive when it comes to helping our clients manage everything, as opposed to other brokers who just sit in the background and not manage benefits. We are a large network of qualified professional, and we all support each other, which makes everything better for the client.”

Unique Factors of work environment: According to Cindy, LBMC EP’s work culture makes for an enjoyable work atmosphere. LBMC EP is very aware of maintaining a quality work-life balance, and because so, the longevity of their employees is something worth noting — many employees have been there 5-10+ years!

Personal: Outside of work, Cindy attends Lifepoint Church, and loves to spend time with her family. Her and her husband Bob love to watch their daughter Rachel play soccer or play her guitar. When she gets some alone time, Cindy loves to read. Two of her favorite authors are Max Lucado and Stephen King, who seem to be on opposite ends of the literature spectrum, but make for some interesting reading!
