Background:

Hailing from Mississippi, Lindsey Thornton attended Mississippi State University, where she graduated with a degree in Communications and Public Relations. While in college, Lindsey had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in the Disney College Program, a unique five-month to seven-month program that allows participants to network with leaders, take part in personal and career development classes, and build transferable skills, such as problem-solving, teamwork, guest service, and effective communication. Lindsey’s first job out of college was the role of HR manager for a 5-location restaurant business. Lindsey managed multiple HR functions, including hiring and firing of employees. This experience led her to the Nashville area, where she learned of an opening with LBMC Employment Partners. Needing a stable job and loving all things Nashville, Lindsey accepted her current role. “A great company culture was important to me, which made LBMC EP stand out in my job search," says Lindsey.

Current Role:

The Implementation team is comprised of three members who work with every LBMC EP client. “We get new clients monthly, and my colleagues can hop in when needed," says Lindsey. Though she can't compliment her teammates enough, Lindsey says she's lucky to be on the team with such great mentors. A normal day on the job for Lindsey involves overseeing implementation of time and attendance, as well as Employee Navigator. When not working on client implementation, Lindsey can be found leading training sessions both in person and online. Lindsey’s additional duties include assisting and supporting LBMC EP’s payroll specialists and HR managers. “I love being able to help people and assist when needed. One of my favorite things about LBMC EP is our cross-functional collaboration. This has allowed me to get to know everyone in the department,” says Lindsey.

Of the many things Lindsey appreciates about LBMC EP is its customer service focus. “You’ll notice that LBMC EP hires individuals who can provide excellent customer service. We don’t just want to provide clients with a good system; we want to go above and beyond,” Lindsey affirms. “This is a true differentiator for LBMC EP. From the front desk first impression to the dedicated HR professional assigned to each client, LBMC EP provides the best service as possible,” adds Lindsey. Team culture is also something about LBMC EP that stands out to Lindsey. Being from out of state with no family members close-by, Lindsey discovered on day one how LBMC EP truly cares about its employees. “Mary and Sharon took me under their wings and made me feel like a family member when I made my move to Nashville. They even helped me move into my new residence. You never hear stories like that anymore. They truly care about us here,” says Lindsey.

Personal:

In Lindsey’s spare time, she loves to teach dance and competition choreography. “Dance is a true passion of mine,” says Lindsey. An animal lover, Lindsey has a kitten named Kellan, who she adores. Lindsey also loves traveling. One of Lindsey’s most memorable trips was going to Europe for two weeks, after which she came home from the trip and started in her current role the next day. Lindsey also loves the outdoors, especially waterfalls, hiking, and kayaking. Above all, Lindsey is a proud aunt to her 1-year-old nephew, Caden.
